Toyota has launched the Mild Hybrid Version of the Fortuner in the South African Market, Similar to What they did with the Hilux Pickup Truck last year for the European market. This Mild Hybrid Technology helps the Engine to Save Fuel at lower RPMs, Making it More Fuel-Efficient.
48V Mild Hybrid System
The Fortuner’s Diesel Variant, gets a 2.8-liter Turbocharged Engine which Produces 201 Bhp and 500 Nm of Torque, and now Incorporates a 48V Mild Hybrid system which delivers an Extra 16 PS and 42 Nm of Torque. With this Addition, the SUV Achieves a Claimed Fuel Efficiency of 13.15 kmpl, Surpassing the Non-Hybrid Version’s 12.66 kmpl. This Technology is Exclusively Paired with a 6-speed Automatic Transmission and is Available Across both 2WD and 4WD Configurations.

Toyota has also Upgraded the Feature list of International Variant Fortuner, Including the Introduction of the 360-Degree Camera, Refreshed Alloy Wheels and Toyota Safety Sense ADAS Suite which has features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency braking, Blind Spot Monitor, lane Keep Assist, lane Departure Warning, High Beam Assist and Forward Collision Warning. The Fortuner’s Popularity in India is due to its Good Reliability and Robust Performance, which helps the Fortuner to Maintain its Strong Grip in its Segment amidst limited Alternatives.

In India, the Fortuner SUV is Available with Petrol and Diesel Engines, and You can Choose Between Manual and Automatic Transmissions. You also have the Option for both 2WD and 4WD Versions. The Price Starts at Around Rs 33.43 lakh and Goes up to About Rs 51.44 lakh (ex-showroom).
