Bajaj has finally launched the NS400Z, marking the largest Pulsar ever made by the company. It features the same dynamic design as the Pulsar NS200, powered by a more powerful 373cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, Dominar 400 engine. This engine produces 40 bhp and 35 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. According to Bajaj, the top speed is 154 km/h, but don’t be surprised if it exceeds that. One of the most exciting aspects of this bike is its pricing, with the introductory price for the Pulsar NS400Z starting from Rs 1.85 lakh (ex-showroom). This combination of the Dominar engine and the NS200 body shell makes the bike 19 kg lighter than the Bajaj Dominar, resulting in a more exhilarating performance.
NS400 vs NS200
Elements that Set this bike apart from the Pulsar NS200 are new LED headlamps, thunderbolt-styled sleek LED DRLs, sporty rearview mirrors, and USD forks. The Pulsar NS400Z has a 12-liter fuel tank capacity, the same alloy designs as the Pulsar NS200. There are four color options available for the Pulsar NS400Z: Pearl White, Ebony Black, Pewter Grey, and Wine Red.
Features
In terms of features, the Pulsar NS400Z boasts a fully digital color instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity for accessing calls, messages, and turn-by-turn navigation on the go. This digital instrument cluster provides a plethora of information, including a tachometer, speedometer, odometer, gear indicator, side stand indicator, and distance-to-empty. But the feature list doesn’t end here. The NS400Z also includes ride-by-wire throttle, switchable dual-channel ABS, three levels of traction control, and four ride modes (Road, Sport, Rain, and Offroad), along with five-way adjustable levers. For braking, the bike is equipped with 320mm front and 230mm rear disc brakes, ensuring reliable stopping power. It rides on 110/70-17 front and 140/70-17 rear section tires for optimal grip and stability.
Verdict
Pulsar NS400z rivals the Triumph Speed 400, KTM 390 Duke, Hero Mavrick 440, BMW G310R, and TVS Apache RR310. This new Pulsar NS400Z is the most value-for-money bike in the 400 cc segment, making it an appealing option for riders seeking high-performance bikes priced under 2 lakhs. Bookings are open now for just Rs 5000, with deliveries set to commence in the first week of June.
