The upcoming new Alto is anticipated with some key changes in itself which are discussed thoroughly below.


As we know the Japanese carmaker Suzuki is working on bringing the next-generation of three cars namely – the Alto, Wagon R and Vitara which are predicted to launch in the upcoming year in India. These models will well be equipped with the new and upgraded features inside and out. The new Alto will have its official global launch in December 2020 and will make a way to India in early of 2021. We like to specify some of the notable key features of new Alto 2021which are likely to be evident in its official launch.

1) Interiors and Exteriors

The next-generation of Alto’s designing is yet to be unveiled in the official launch but it is expected to a base variant coming with completely new front fascia which has an updated bumper, revised headlamps and newly-designed grille. Other specs include bolder side creases, updated taillamps and bumper and newly designed wheels. It is also expected to see the new Alto 2021 with some minor changes in measurement. On the other hand, in its interiors, there would a feature of touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay which will be mainly available in higher trims.

2) Upgraded Engine

In the official launch of new Alto in Japan, the car will be equipped with a new R06D 658 cc engine and also a turbocharged motor will accompany as well. But, the Maruti Suzuki Alto 2021 is probably available in India with a 796 cc naturally aspirated petrol engine which is enough to generate 48 bhp and 69 Nm of torque, There will a choice for the buyers to choose either a manual or AMT gearbox.

3) Safety Measures

The company has taken care for the safety of the driver in the car where there will be driver Airbags, ABS with EBD, co-driver seat belt reminder, speed alert system and reverse parking sensors all installed in the new Alto 2021. But the new model is also unlikely to get dual airbags.

4) Heartect Platform

In order to be on the safer side, the company will switch the new-generation Maruti Alto 2021 to its new Heartect platform. The designing of the car is made using high ultra and advance high strength steels which are capable of absorbing and distributing the impact energy in a uniform way to the vehicle structure in order to ensure driver and passengers safety.

5) Bit Inflated Price

It is to expect that Alto 2021 may undergo a price hike as it has some added features. Currently, the existing model of the car is available at a price range of Rs 2.94 lakh – Rs 4.36 lakh (ex-showroom).
